It's been a while since I've updated our family blog. It has been very busy for us. Aaron transferred from Bay Alarm's Oakland branch to Martinez branch. Some days he is working just down the street and is home by 4:30! I have just finished the teaching credential program and now subbing two to three days a week. Summer school was canceled due to budget cuts, but hopefully I will have a job for next Fall. Brianna is finishing up fourth grade and undergoing STAR testing. She also has to have further dental work and is getting a lower space retainer next week along with the upper retainer she already has! Bradley is full of energy and is growing fast. He goes to preschool two days a week and tells me that he wants to go to kindergarten (he will have to wait another year). Here are some recent pictures from Easter!
So It's been a long time since I've updated my blog. Thought I would add some pictures from Christmas. It was very nice to see my brother Brent and his family and my brother Bill and his family visit from out of town. Wish all my family lived closer together and all the cousins could grow up together. We do cherish the times we get to visit. Wishing everyone a great New Year!
Last weekend we decided to take a mini trip to Santa Cruz. We were worried it was going to be too windy and cold because that was the weather prediction for the coast, but the weather was beautiful. We stayed one night at a little hotel, but the pool was heated and they had a hot tub - that was fun! We got to see the sunset on the beach too. The next day we went to the Boardwalk and rode a few rides and spent the rest of the day on the beach. It was a nice break from work, homework, and school. Too bad it can't last forever.
We decided last minute to go camping on Mt. Diablo as a mini vacation before school starts again. We just stayed one night, but had a lot of fun. We went on an evening hike and watched the sunset, got to see a tarantula about every 20 feet, lizards, deer, and lots of raccoons. Then we roasted marshmellows. Sleeping was a little difficult due to the teenagers camping close to us and the fact that they left their food out all night which brought out the raccoons in numbers. In the morning, we went for another hike and then decided to pack up and head home and take a good long nap.
On Brianna's birthday we went to Aaron's parents to go swimming and have cake. Brianna also got a surprise visit from a little friend named Charlie. Charlie is a squirrel that has been visiting Aaron's parents for over a year now. He is not shy and seems pretty tame. I was pretty nervous that the kids were getting so close to him, but it was just so amazing at the same time. Charlie was so cute and would take nuts right out of your hand. Everyone was so entertained by this little critter.
